"Overview of the CREST and NASA Research programs at NCCU with an
accent on high energy gamma polarimeter and rigorous few-body
astrophysics calculations”

MARTES 10 de NOVIEMBRE de 2009, a las 14 hs.
Aula del Edificio IAFE - Ciudad Universitaria

                        Prof. Branislav Vlahovic
Director of the National Science Foundation Center for Research Excellence
(CREST)

                        Abstract:
               (Se adjunta la versión completa)

The CREST is a research center with computational programs in
nanotechnology, nuclear physics, robotics, and geophysics. The NASA Center
is complementary to CREST, supporting experimentally oriented programs on
formation of nanostrucutres (quantum dots and nanowires for photovoltaic
cells and IR detectors applications), design of new polarimeter for
linearly polarized high energy photons for astrophysics, design of new
neutrino detector, robotics, and the highest intensity positron beam
facility that we are building at Jefferson National Laboratory.
After brief overview of the Center for Research Excellence
(CREST) and NASA University Research Centers at the North
Carolina Central University, the presentation will focus on the
astrophysical applications.
