Dear Colleagues,
I would like to bring to your attention the international conference
"The Physical Cell: In search of the design principles of life", which
we are organizing in London on 28-30th June 2010 (please find a poster
attached). Our aim is to bring together physicists and biologists
working on quantitative aspects of cell biology, multicellular
systems, development and evolution. We would like to facilitate a true
dialogue between experimentalists and modellers, who will speak on
related subjects in five broadly themed sessions:

Space and Time
Symmetries
Growth and Form
Chance and Control
Evolution

A number of internationally known speakers have provisionally accepted
invitations to present their research, among them
Joerg Albert, UK Karsten Kruse, Germany
Robert Austin, USA Stanislas Leibler, USA
John Bechhoefer, Canada L. Mahadevan, USA
Damian Brunner, Germany Timothy Mitchison, USA
Michael Elowitz, USA Bela Mulder, Netherlands
Darren Gilmour,  Germany Andrew Murray, USA
Martin Howard, UK Victor Sourjik, Germany
Jean-François Joanny, France Jennifer Zallen, USA
Frank Jülicher, Germany
There will also be contributed talks, poster sessions and panel
discussions. The participation of young researchers is strongly
encouraged and we expect to be able to offer bursaries to students
from Europe and travel grants to researchers from developing
countries.
Further information will be posted on the conference website and
pre-registration will open in October.
I would be grateful if you would pass this information to any
researchers at your institute who might be interested in the meeting.
