Dear Colleagues,<br>
I would like to bring to your attention the international conference<br>
"The Physical Cell: In search of the design principles of life", which<br>
we are organizing in London on 28-30th June 2010 (please find a poster<br>
attached). Our aim is to bring together physicists and biologists<br>
working on quantitative aspects of cell biology, multicellular<br>
systems, development and evolution. We would like to facilitate a true<br>
dialogue between experimentalists and modellers, who will speak on<br>
related subjects in five broadly themed sessions:<br>

Symmetries<br>
Growth and Form<br>
Chance and Control<br>
Evolution<br>

A number of internationally known speakers have provisionally accepted<br>
invitations to present their research, among them<br>

discussions. The participation of young researchers is strongly<br>
encouraged and we expect to be able to offer bursaries to students<br>
from Europe and travel grants to researchers from developing<br>
countries.<br>
Further information will be posted on the conference website and<br>
pre-registration will open in October.<br>
