ENGLISH EDITORIAL SERVICES

SERVICES
We offer editing services for English language manuscripts written by
persons native to other languages. The service includes corrections of
spelling, punctuation, grammar, syntax, and current usage. The object is
to turn manuscripts into smooth English that can be read without
hesitation. We are careful to preserve the original content and are
sensitive to the author's style.

We specialize in technical manuscripts in the fields of geology,
paleontology, oceanography, systematic and evolutionary biology, and
ecology. However, texts in other academic and non-academic fields will also
be considered. If we find that a submitted manuscript is outside our
technical capability, it will be returned without charge.

We emphasize that this not a translation service.

QUALIFICATIONS
We are university-educated native English-language specialists directed by
a professional geologist/oceanographer with over ten years' tenure on the
editorial boards of several science journals. We have considerable
experience with editing text composed by colleagues native to other
European and Asian languages and are accustomed to recognizing intended
meanings when the English is less than perfect.

SUBMISSION OF MANUSCRIPTS
Manuscripts in English may be submitted as word processing files by e-mail
or on CDs, or as paper hard copy. Unless otherwise specified, manuscripts
will be returned by the same method that they arrived. Microsoft Word
documents are normally processed with the "Track Changes" option to enable
manuscript comparisons.
