que se dictara en el Centro de Microscopias Avanzadas de nuestra Facultad 
entre el 6 y el 18 de agosto de 2006.

EMBO Practical Course on Advances in technologies for high resolution in vivo 
microscopy. From single molecule detection to functional studies 

Buenos Aires, Argentina
August 6-18, 2006

The main objective of this Practical Course is to introduce state-of-the-art 
microscopy for Cell Biology and Cell Biophysics research to students primarily 
from Latin-American and other developing countries. We will provide a 
comprehensive overview and practical experience on the most advanced 
techniques in fluorescence and atomic force microscopy, including single 
molecule imaging. Participants will have hands-on practical experience with 
expression probes for in vivo imaging such as VFP (Visible Fluorescent 
Protein) constructs and Quantum Dots, using cutting edge fluorescence 
microscopy techniques. These will include confocal and multiphoton microscopy, 
Förster resonance energy transfer (FRET) and lifetime (FLIM) techniques, and 
other non-linear superresolution approaches.

The course will be held at the Center for Advanced Microscopies (CMA), 
Facultad de Ciencias Exactas y Naturales, Ciudad Universitaria Pabellón I, 
Buenos Aires, Argentina.
