In an attempt to clarify various aspects </span><span style="color:rgb(34,34,34);font-size:13px;font-family:arial,sans-serif">of Quantum Mechanics, Feynman introduced the so-called Feynman </span><span style="color:rgb(34,34,34);font-size:13px;font-family:arial,sans-serif">integral -- a concept that had an enormous impact on theoretical </span><span style="color:rgb(34,34,34);font-size:13px;font-family:arial,sans-serif">physics but still awaits its rigorous treatment. Later, Kac proposed </span><span style="color:rgb(34,34,34);font-size:13px;font-family:arial,sans-serif">what is nowadays called the Feynman--Kac (FK) formula and indicated </span><span style="color:rgb(34,34,34);font-size:13px;font-family:arial,sans-serif">its connection with Probability Theory. I will report on </span><span style="color:rgb(34,34,34);font-size:13px;font-family:arial,sans-serif">new results from Quantum Statistical Mechanics based on an intensive </span><span style="color:rgb(34,34,34);font-size:13px;font-family:arial,sans-serif">use of the FK formula and discuss some conjectures and open questions.</span><br style="color:rgb(34,34,34);font-size:13px;font-family:arial,sans-serif">
