Ridge, NY, May 4, 2011 --- The doors are open for submissions to<br>
Physical Review X (PRX), the new online, open access research
journal<br>
from APS covering all fields of physics. Authors and research
institutions<br>
worldwide are invited to be a part of this new venture.<br>
<br>
As broad in scope as physics itself, PRX is committed to
publishing<br>
excellent, original research in pure, applied, and
interdisciplinary fields,<br>
which will be valued by a global readership. PRX will provide
validation<br>
through prompt and rigorous peer review, and an open access
venue<br>
within the Physical Review family of publications. The first
issue of PRX<br>
is planned for September of this year.<br>
<br>
PRX's Editor is Jorge Pullin, Chair of the Horace C. Hearne, Jr.
Institute<br>
for Theoretical Physics and professor in the Louisiana State
University<br>
Center for Computation & Technology and Department of
Physics and<br>
Astronomy. Pullin received his Ph.D. from the Instituto
Balseiro and has<br>
research interests in many aspects of gravitational physics,
both classical<br>
and quantum mechanical. PRX Associate Editor Ling Miao received
her<br>
Ph.D. in statistical physics, soft condensed matter physics, and
biophysics<br>
from Simon Fraser University. A strongly international editorial
board of<br>
distinguished scientists has been assembled with coverage of all
fields<br>
of physics (<a href="http://prx.aps.org/staff" target="_blank">http://prx.aps.org/staff</a>).<br>
<br>
Articles in PRX will be published under the terms of the
Creative<br>
Commons Attribution 3.0 License, leaving copyright with the
authors.<br>
Article-processing charges of $1500 per published article, paid
by<br>
authors or their institutions, will cover peer review,
composition,<br>
hosting, and archiving, and allow PRX to be freely available.
More<br>
information and details of how to submit an article appear on
the<br>
journal's website: (<a href="http://prx.aps.org/" target="_blank">http://prx.aps.org/</a>).
Updates may also be received<br>
by email (<a href="http://publish.aps.org/alerts" target="_blank">http://publish.aps.org/alerts</a>).<br>
<br>
