los internos que se encuentran en Huelga de Hambre, el lunes 1º

rgb(51, 51, 51);">El Centro Universitario de Devoto (CUD) se creó
en el año 1985 por iniciativa de un grupo de internos alojados en
el penal. En un convenio firmado por quien fuera entonces Rector de la
Universidad de Buenos Aires (UBA) y el director del Servicio Penitenciario
Federal (SPF) quedó establecido el derecho a la educación
superior para las personas que se encontraran privadas de su
libertad.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p style="margin-bottom: 12pt; text-align: justify;"
class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: Arial; color:
rgb(51, 51, 51);">El Centro funciona en el marco del Programa UBAXXII
Educación en Cárceles, que cuenta actualmente con Ciclo
Básico Común y seis carreras universitarias, así como
cursos extracurriculares de Computación, una Asesoría
Jurídica gratuita, el Proyecto Ave Fénix y una
Asesoría Social entre otras actividades, cursos y talleres. El CUD
recibe visitas de compañeros, estudiantes, docentes y otros
profesionales, muchos comprometidos en la creación de un puente que
facilite el intercambio, el diálogo y la construcción
colectiva de lazos que rompan con el imaginario social montado alrededor
de las personas detenidas.</span><span style="font-size: 10pt; color:
rgb(51, 51, 51);"><o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;" class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:
10pt; font-family: Arial; color: rgb(51, 51, 51);">Asimismo este espacio
se sostiene bajo las consignas de autogestión, voluntad,
solidaridad y resistencia conjunta, lo que va contra la lógica
penitenciaria y la violencia padecida.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;" class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:
10pt; font-family: Arial; color: rgb(51, 51, 51);"><br /> Sin embargo,
pese a esta autonomía lograda y sostenida con esfuerzo hace 25
años por estudiantes y docentes, el SPF impulsa
sistemáticamente prácticas coercitivas y vejatorias,
incitando el deterioro y la fractura de este espacio, de los integrantes
de esta comunidad y de las relaciones que se tejen con tiempo y
dedicación. <o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;" class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:
10pt; font-family: Arial; color: rgb(51, 51, 51);"><br /> Así la
problemática situación que atraviesa esta sede universitaria
se ha ido agravando. <o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;" class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:
10pt; font-family: Arial; color: rgb(51, 51, 51);"><br /> El día
jueves 23 de septiembre el CUD fue allanado por un grupo de requisa armado
del SPF con orden judicial, donde se encontraban en ese momento
estudiantes y un profesor de Sociología. Dicho allanamiento no fue
notificado previamente, ni luego de ocurrido, a ninguna autoridad de la
UBA tal como lo establece la ley y vulnerando así el
espíritu de la autonomía de la Universidad. Se han
suspendido clases arbitrariamente, impedido el acceso de estudiantes a las
actividades, cursos y al mismo Centro así como también han
tenido lugar desalojos y traslados compulsivos de estudiantes
detenidos.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;" class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:
10pt; font-family: Arial; color: rgb(51, 51, 51);"><br /> Siendo el
Programa UBAXXII una experiencia precursora a nivel internacional como
garante del derecho a una educación universitaria, pública y
gratuita en lugares de encierro y el CUD el espacio físico que lo
impulsa, la defensa del mismo está legitimada en su
constitución como un espacio que procura brindar las herramientas
necesarias para ampliar y nutrir una mirada crítica hacía la
realidad y su construcción mediática; en su carácter
socializador en oposición al controvertido tratamiento de
reinserción social, conservador y deshumanizante en sus
fundamentos; en que este espacio significa la resistencia a la
cotidianeidad de la vida carcelaria que desborda en faltas y atentados
contra los derechos humanos.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;" class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:
10pt; font-family: Arial; color: rgb(51, 51, 51);"><br /> La calidad que
reviste este espacio queda demostrada en el casi nulo nivel de
reincidencia de la población que tiene la posibilidad de asistir al
CUD.<o:p></o:p></span></p>

style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: Arial; color: rgb(51, 51, 51);"><br
/> <em><span style="font-family: Arial;">Por todo ello repudiamos el
accionar del SPF y responsables y solicitamos a

la UBA se manifiesten en apoyo y defensa de este espacio por todas

autoridades del Ministerio de Justicia, Seguridad y Derechos Humanos

derechos de quienes integran la comunidad que asiste al
CentroUniversitario de Devoto y favorezca el crecimiento y desarrollo del
