estudio del calor específico de una sustancia es una herramienta muy poderosa
para el conocimiento de sus propiedades intrínsecas, ya que éste refleja la
manera en que la energía interna se distribuye entre los diferentes grados de
libertad de sus constituyentes. En un sólido, da información sobre las
vibraciones de la red atómica, distribuciones electrónicas, niveles de energía
en materiales magnéticos, fenómenos de orden-desorden en moléculas, transiciones
de fase (estructurales, magnéticas, superconductoras) etc. En esta charla
hablaremos sobre la técnica de medición de calor específico en muestras pequeñas
(del orden del microgramo) a bajas temperaturas, disponible en el LBT del
Depto. de Física, la cual utiliza micro-calorímetros fabricados con membrana de
NSi. Presentaremos también algunos resultados interesantes recientes en muestras
magnéticas, nanotubos de carbono y muestras orgánicas. <BR> <BR
