entendimiento de los mecanismos de iniciación, evolución y ruptura de aneurismas
cerebrales (la mayor causa de hemorragias cerebrales) es importante para una
mejor evaluación de los pacientes y el planeamiento de su tratamiento. Este es
un problema multi factorial, pero la hemodinámica (flujo sanguíneo) ha sido
identificada como uno de los factores mas importantes. En esta charla se
describirá la aplicación de métodos numéricos para el modelado personalizado de
la dinámica de fluidos en aneurismas cerebrales a partir de imágenes médicas. Se
mostrara cómo estos modelos pueden ser usados para testear hipótesis acerca de
la evolución natural de estos aneurismas relacionando variables hemodinámicas
con eventos clínicos, y para predecir el resultado de intervenciones
endovasculares mínimamente invasivas.<o:p></o:p></FONT></SPAN></P>
