are seeking highly motivated individuals interested in pursuing experimental
research in the field of laser cooling and quantum degenerate gases.
Specifically, we invite applications for both a postdoctoral research position
and two PhD studentships, associated with the development of a new research
project to study the dynamics and quantum reflection of bright-matter wave <span
class=SpellE>solitons</span> formed during the collapse of attractive
Bose-Einstein condensates.<o:p></o:p></span></font></p>

style='font-size:11.0pt;font-family:Arial'><o:p> </o:p></span></font></p>
<p class=MsoNormal style='text-align:justify'><font size=2 face=Arial><span
style='font-size:11.0pt;font-family:Arial'>The successful candidate for the
postdoctoral position will be expected to lead the development of a new
experimental apparatus to produce <sup>85</sup>Rb Bose-Einstein condensates.
Experience of magnetic and optical trapping of ultracold and quantum degenerate
gases is therefore essential. The position may begin in September 2007 and is
extendable to up to four years.<o:p></o:p></span></font></p>
