construcción de superficies que controlen la orientación de cristales líquidos
es de importancia fundamental en la tecnología de pantallas de cristal líquido
(LCD). La alineación uniforme de dominios de cristal líquido es lograda mediante
contacto con superficies de alineación. Estas superficies se obtienen
industrialmente mediante pulido (rubbing) de una capa delgada de polímero con
terciopelo. La naturaleza invasiva de este proceso hace susceptible a la
superficie de generación de cargas electrostáticas y de contaminación, lo que va
en detrimento de la calidad de los dispositivos electro-ópticos obtenidos y
obliga a trabajar en condiciones que los limitan dimensionalmente. Por tal
motivo se están estudiando numerosas alternativas a este proceso para la
obtención de placas de alineación, como por ejemplo: foto-alineación, capas
auto-ensambladas y nano-rubbing con AFM. <o:p></o:p></FONT></SPAN></SPAN></P>
