We present in this seminar the most recent results of our group in the
study of the influence that thermal evolution has in the properties of
intrinsic dynamos and the resulting magnetospheres for terrestrial
exoplanets . We have developed our own parametrized thermal evolution
model in contrast to our previous efforts where we used thermal evolution
models previously published in literature. Using our thermal evolution
model, up-to-date dynamo scaling laws, including the dependence on
rotation rate developed in a previous work, and simplified models for the
star-planet interaction we predict the evolving magnetic properties
involved in the protection of the atmosphere of potentially habitable
planet. We particularly applied our results to the case of the three
confirmed planets in the habitable zone of their host stars: Gl 581 d, HD
85512 and Gj 667C c. We study the robustness of our results by changing
critical parameters of our thermal evolution model and found that the
global predicted properties of the dynamo and planetary magnetospheres are
not too sensitive to the most uncertain parameters of the model.
