Titulo: "Estudio sistematico del genoma completo de C. elegans 
durante la embriogenesis"

Resumen:

"The acquisition of whole genome information for many organisms has 
opened a new era in biology, in which the focus has shifted to 
address the function of the genome. The major goal of my research is 
to find and analyze genetic interactions in C. elegans early 
embryogenesis in a systematic way. In order to discover interactions 
between genes, I am working with embryonic lethal termosensitive 
mutants and I am knocking-down the whole C. elegans genome. In the 
seminar I will present preliminary results about the first network of 
enhancing or aggravating interactions and suppressing or alleviating 
genetic interactions in the embryo. Mapping genetics interactions in 
C. elegans could be a valuable initial step in understanding the 
interactions and functions of genes in more complex organisms both in 
physiological and pathological condition. Therefore, it is expected 
that these findings could have a significant impact in the 
development of new therapeutic strategies in treatment of a wide 
range of human conditions."
