Dear Researcher,
The *Latin American and Caribbean Collaborative ICT Research (LACCIR)
Federation* invites you to participate in its call for proposals 2009.
At this time we have two open calls as we describe below.

Call for Proposals for both our programs, we
eagerly invite you to participate this year.
Please have in mind the Research Project Proposal requirements threefold: it
should focus on the objective of supporting high-quality fundamental
research in information and communication technologies that are geared
towards addressing the social and economic development needs of the Latin
American and Caribbean region; research should be jointly developed in
collaboration with at least one other country University (one LACCIR
member
University and at least one institution from other country); and it should
have the potential to be granted with other organizations matching funds.

Call for CS and ICT Research Project Proposals applied to regional priority
areas such as: *Education, Energy, Healthcare and Earth, Environment and
Climate Change.*
Deadline, September 22nd 2009.
*Request for Short Stays Proposals 2009.*
The Short Stays Program (SSP) from LACCIR has as its main goal to support
the completion of Graduate dissertations in Computer Science and related
fields, developed in the Latin American and Caribbean region by partially
financing useful research stays in other research centers in the region.
Inparticular, SSP provides funds to cover students' travel and/or stay
expenses to visit a research center in a different country of her/his
university doing relevant research work.
