Joint PhD position at Medical Physics Dept (McGill University, Montreal) 
and Depts of Radiation Oncology & Medical Biophysics (Princess Margaret 
Hospital, Toronto)

A PhD position is available at the Medical Physics Dept of McGill 
University (Montreal, Canada), jointly supervised by Dr Frank Verhaegen of 
McGill and Dr David Jaffray of the Princess Margaret Hospital. The 3-4 year 
position is to investigate improving image quality and patient dosimetry in 
cone-beam CT techniques and portal imaging. Both experimental techniques 
and Monte Carlo simulations will be used. We are looking for a graduate 
from a Physics or Engineering program, preferably with a specialty in 
Medical Physics, Radiation, Imaging or Nuclear Sciences. Knowledge of Monte 
Carlo modeling and/or imaging is an advantage. The successful applicant 
will be based at McGill but will also run experiments at the Princess 
Margaret Hospital. Starting dates and registration procedures will be 
discussed with individual candidates.
